Cool cities in Spain to learn Spanish in

If you are planning to move to Barcelona, Catalonia or any other part of Spain we highly recommend that you learn Spanish. In this section you can find examples of different locations where you can learn Spanish in Spain. If you have the opportunity to travel to South America there are also many great destinations to learn Spanish in Mexico, Spanish in Argentina with the nice Argentinian accent or maybe Peru.

Madrid
The country’s capital and a truly impressive city full of history and exotic modern architecture. Excellent universities such as the Complutense and Antonio Nebrija make the city attractive academically, and its endless variety of entertainment and nightlife guarantee no lack of enjoyment during free time.

Madrid is perhaps at its best during the Autumn, Winter and Spring months; in Summer (especially in August, when city’s population diminishes visibly) everyone seeks refuge from the oven-like asphalt streets and brick buildings in cooler regions of the country.

Barcelona
Spain’s second-largest and most international city, Barcelona is perhaps the best alternative from a cultural and artistic point of view. The city’s varied architecture, graced by Gaudi’s whimsical touch, ranges from a Gothic center to wide avenues and scenic parks, and hardly a month goes by when a festival doesn’t leave its mark on this bicultural city.

Barcelona’s dwellers speak Catalan over Castilian by distinct preference, but as a Spanish student you won’t have trouble communicating with locals because Spanish is also spoken universally.

Salamanca
This city is famous as a student town thanks to the prestigious University of Salamanca, the reputation of which extends to centuries past (it is the second-oldest university in Europe).

Salamanca is widely beheld as a historical gem. It seems a work of art in itself, one of Europe’s best examples of a Renaissance town. Its nightlife, scattered throughout the maze-like alleys of the historic center, is also known to be excellent. During the day, students come together in the main plaza, which is always buzzing with jovial activity and framed in beautifully intricate Gothic architecture.
